La Grande Remontée is a river adventure in which sailors from the Loire Valley sail up the Loire River in a flotilla, from St Nazaire to Orléans, to join the Festival de Loire. Alongside this navigation, the event also offers 20 land-based stopovers for the general public, giving local residents and tourists alike the opportunity to discover the nautical know-how of the Loire and to bear witness to a shared living heritage. By inviting artists and scientists to join the adventure, the Grande Remontée also aims to share knowledge and warnings about the environment, and to experiment with new dialogues with the river.
