A little history...

Once located beyond the city walls, the Jardin des Plantes d’Angers, founded in the 18th century, was the city’s first botanical garden. Initially dedicated to botanical research, it has gradually expanded its collection of varieties through international exchanges.

After damage caused by a storm in 1901, the garden was renovated in the English landscape style by Edouard André, providing a haven of peace in the heart of the city, open to the public.
