The environment is a fascinating subject, whether we're talking about the future of our planet or our daily quality of life.
Today, how can we provide concrete answers to the questions you ask yourself on a daily basis about the ecological transition: how can we live, eat, consume and get around in a more sustainable way, or produce less waste?
Located in the heart of the Lac de Maine leisure park, the Maison de l'environnement is a place for environmental education and awareness-raising. Throughout the year, it offers workshops, walks, exhibitions, shows and festive events to enable all residents, young and old, to experience the ecological transition.
The Maison de l'environnement's organic garden, a "Refuge for Biodiversity" (LPO) and certified "Agriculture Biologique" (Écocert), offers a poetic and experimental response to the objectives of natural gardening and the preservation of biodiversity. Over an area of 4,000 m2, 400 plant varieties are catalogued and 800 kg of fruit, vegetables and herbs are harvested each year for the benefit of a solidarity restaurant, Resto-Troc in Belle-Beille.
The garden's eco-gardeners offer free guided tours on Sundays at 4pm, as well as practical workshops on organic gardening techniques (see the program of activities). You can also take advantage of an open house to ask them any questions you may have.
Finally, discover the site and its biodiversity with the whole family, thanks to the various rallies, giant wooden games circuit and little explorers' backpacks, available during our opening hours.
Registration and payment can be made online via the Angers Tourist Office website, or directly on site for ticketed events.
To enable as many people as possible to take part in the Maison de l'Environnement's highly successful activities, registration is open at least 2 months before the date of each activity.
Free admission every day from 2pm to 6pm.
