Hiking - Between the little station and the slate quarries
This day-long trail is full of surprises. Pass by the Musée de l'Ardoise, then wander through the Parc des Ardoisières. Here you'll find old quarry bottoms of surprising color.
Tourist attractions :
- The Parc des Ardoisières in Trélazé, with its mounds, old bottoms and headframes, has been redeveloped from a former slate quarry.
- The Musée de l'ardoise (slate museum) illustrates the evolution of slate quarrying techniques and offers demonstrations of slate splitting.
- The Parc de Pignerolle in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou is a fine example of French art de vivre. Spanning 80 hectares, walkers will appreciate the landscaped setting, which respects the elegance and architectural balance of the château built in 1776.
