For this exceptional concert, Simon Shaheen will be surrounded by some of the most outstanding musicians of their generation, all of whom also teach at the University of Arab Music: Mohammed Alhabbash (oud), Nizar Rohana (oud), Ramzi Aburedwan (bouzouq), Layth Siddiq (violin), Khalil Khoury (qanun), Mohamed Najem (nay), Iyad Abulaila (percussion) and Fayçal El Mezouar (violin). They will be joined by the great Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, whose singular, virtuoso voice embodies the soul of the Arab repertoire with strength and sensitivity.
Together, they will offer a program of classical Arab music, celebrating the richness, depth and modernity of a musical heritage handed down and reinvented by exceptional artists. A rare evening at the crossroads of transmission and cultural dialogue.
