In 1028, Hildegarde, Countess of Anjou, founded a women's abbey in Angers. Successive abbesses would go on to make Le Ronceray one of the most powerful abbeys in Anjou. The exhibition plunges visitors into almost 1,000 years of history, with its architectural innovations and exceptional decor.
It also heralds the reopening of the abbey church to the general public, to be inaugurated in 2026 in the Doutre district.
