Welcome to the Court of Anjou!
To take you back to the splendor of the château in the 14th and 15th centuries, we've recreated the atmosphere in the rooms of the royal dwelling. Here we are more than 600 years back in time, in the company of the dukes and duchesses of Anjou and, among them, the famous King René: ceremonial rooms, banquet halls, bedrooms: so many places to evoke their sumptuous lifestyle and rediscover the Middle Ages!
This second edition of the "Return of the King" exhibition, completely renewed, was made possible thanks to a major participatory project. Medieval furniture and objects were collected from a hundred or so generous donors all over France, and facsimiles of furniture, costumes, jewelry and goldsmith's and silversmith's pieces were created by over 200 students from 7 vocational schools in the Grand Ouest region, as part of the "Chef-d'œuvre de la République" scheme.
