The chapel, raised on a hummock to put it out of reach from the Loire flooding, is part of high-quality constructions built around a tree-filled esplanade.
The architect gave a Romanesque Revival style to the chapel by adding, above the buttresses, columns with remarkably ornamented capitals.
With all its stone statues on the pediment and cast-iron statues on the ground, representing Notre-Dame's apparitions to La Salette's children, the chapel also has, in periphery, a “15 mystères du rosaire” path.
