The Savennières vineyards go back to the beginning of the Christian era. For nearly two thousand years they have yielded fine white wines with excellent longevity. AOC is short for Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, meaning the wines have been awarded a guarantee of origin and quality. Wine is an integral part of the local culture and visitors will discover its delightful attractions during the many cultural events hosted throughout the year including gastronomic and literary festivals, concerts and fairs.
