The Port Albert lime kilns, the Sautré, Monrepos and Coincée castles, the Sautré mill and the Chapelle des Vignes are just a few of the many historic sites you'll discover on this trail.
Tourist attractions :
- The Port Albert site is located on a bend in the Mayenne, 1km from the center of Feneu. It bears witness to the presence of an ancient port that was a stopover for sailing boats such as flutereaux, gabarre or auriers. These boats transported salt, Loire wine, tuffeau and Trélazé slate.... Its verdant setting also attracts many fishermen.
- The Sautré mills were built in 1285 to protect the castle opposite and monitor river traffic. The last mill was in operation until 1980.
- In the Middle Ages, Sautré castle, built on a rocky spur, was a territorial defense against Norman invasions.
