After the departure of King René in the 15th century, the Château d'Angers became primarily a prison. It housed both famous and anonymous prisoners, some of whom left poignant marks on its walls. Archives and graffiti bear witness to this often overlooked history. Practical info: Ages 12 and up. This tour takes visitors into spaces usually closed to the public. Reservations required on the château's website until the day before the tour, or on site. Not accessible to disabled persons.
