Description
Fifteen kilometers west of Angers, a stone's throw from the Loire River in the charming village of Savennières, this restaurant-bistro offers market-fresh, seasonal, largely locavore cuisine in a warm, welcoming dining room decorated with a host of vintage objects. Each month, the menu is renewed according to the seasons and daily harvests from the restaurant's 1000 m2 vegetable garden. The result is tasty, fresh and inspired dishes. In the cellar, the choice of organic and natural wines is vast, with nearly 500 references highlighting, among many others, the terroirs of the Loire and Anjou's emblematic grape variety, chenin. The terrace, on the pretty cobbled square in front of one of France's most beautiful Romanesque churches, is an ideal stopover on the Loire à Vélo©. If, by any chance, you hadn't planned to take this gourmet break and the restaurant was fully booked, you should know that the summer bar Le Clos, adjoining the restaurant, offers an equally convivial experience. In the spirit of a tapas bar, you can enjoy homemade charcuterie, wines and cold drinks.
