Angers Fête l'Europe

Every year in May, the Angers Fête l'Europe event promotes the construction of the European Union and raises awareness of the diversity of European cultures. Coordinated by the City of Angers, the event brings together a wide range of partners who contribute to the program through meetings, visits, demonstrations, cultural events... In particular, the program will celebrate ten years of twinning between Angers and the town of Toruń, in Poland. Among the highlights: a lecture on Copernicus (Toruń's most famous personality) followed by stargazing at Lac de Maine, on May 22; a round-table discussion on the evolution of the Polish music scene, at Joker's pub, on May 26; and a concert with Polish artists, on May 27, cale de la Savatte. These events will be accompanied by a Polish meal in the city's schools and Ehpad, and an economic focus on Poland for Loire Valley businesses. And at the town hall, an overview of the work of Edward Baran, a visual artist who lived in Anjou from 1966 until his death in 2021.
