Eight a capella voices. Established in 2015, the aim of the Scholars program is to train versatile and accomplished young artists with the skills they need to succeed at the start of their professional careers. Mentored by current and former VOCES8 members, the program offers training in performance, recording and workshop facilitation, with the opportunity to sing alongside VOCES8. British vocal ensemble VOCES8, nominated for a Grammy Award in 2023, is the winner of numerous international prizes and one of the UK's leading vocal ensembles. Its repertoire ranges from ancient polyphony to jazz and popular arrangements. The icing on the cake! Have you booked a place at the concert? At 6 p.m., a vocal workshop led by Paul Smith will enable you to perform a 4-minute aria with the audience. This workshop allows participants to discover music in the company of Paul Smith, co-founder of VOCES8. Paul specializes in delivering fun, engaging and dynamic workshops, open to all, regardless of prior singing experience. Participants will work with him to explore music from around the world in a session inspired by his acclaimed book: the VOCES8 method. Based on research by the Institute of Education (IOE) in London, it contains group activities based on rhythm and melody, specifically designed to develop skills essential to the art of a cappella singing.
