Description
Thanks to the work of historians and archaeologists in France and Europe, we can now imagine what life was like in a motte castle.
On the occasion of the European Archaeology Days, the Château à motte de Verrières-en-Anjou, a reconstructed site unique in France, opens its doors for an immersion in the 12th century.
Discover the experimental archaeology practised by members of the Mesnie Joulain association, through reconstructions.
Visitors are invited to wander around the castle and chat with the lord of the castle and his knights!
Animations and guided tours from 2pm to 6pm.
