The Artothèque d'Angers welcomes Laura Orlhiac for a solo exhibition. The artist presents an installation of works on paper produced during her residency at the Medical and Rehabilitation Care Department of the Angers University Hospital, from January to June 2023. During this residency, Laura painted the colors of the skies, inspired by the patients' testimonials she collected. These pieces, created within the CHU itself, serve as the starting point for a pictorial creation in situ as part of the exhibition. The theme of the sky and its representation, a recurring motif in the history of art, is bordered in this creation. Laura Orlhiac combines the use of light and color, playing on the repetition of sensitive, nuanced forms, giving her work an almost sculptural dimension. The public can thus discover a work that establishes a dialogue between geometric abstraction and anchoring in reality, seeking to awaken sensitivity.
