Description
Fate knocks at the gates of the Château d'Angers... While the Shadow, devouring the light, spreads to the East, a glimmer of hope and celebration lights up between the seventeen towers of our citadel. The program for this year's "Grand Bal" includes elven archery initiations, mage encampments, readings of ancient tales, illumination workshops, miniature battles, a giant picnic, a fantasy stall and tattoos. And don't forget your best costume for the grand ball under the stars.
The Grand Bal offers an immersive weekend in the fantasy and medieval universe. On Saturday and Sunday, visitors can discover exhibitions of Lord of the Rings figurines and costumes, take part in role-playing, bookmarking and illumination workshops, or learn archery at the Eldoria camp. Children are welcomed with dynamic games such as the "Parcours Fantastique". An ancient fencing show is presented at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. each day, while equestrian, musical and stilt-walker strolls enliven the aisles. The "Échoppe Fantastique" brings together numerous creators, authors and craftsmen throughout the day.
On Sunday, a relaxed atmosphere reigns in the ditches, with a giant picnic from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., food trucks and light entertainment. On Saturday evening, the event is transformed with the opening of the bookshop and stalls until 10pm, followed by the "Grand Bal" until 12:30am. The evening includes bardcore concerts, a costume contest, a fire show and a comedy act (not recommended for under-15s). Access to the evening requires a special ticket or weekend pass.
