A day of activities focused on raising awareness about high water and flooding. River waters have been rising and falling for millennia, shaping our landscapes. The topic of high water and flooding is presented in a fun and artistic way for all ages—from kids to adults: family activities, an escape game, models, an exhibition… and the show “Pièces d’eau” by the Spectabilis theater company will be on the program for this day of immersion in risk awareness. 11:00 a.m. “Eau secours” escape game: (3 teams of up to 6 people each = 18 participants) This activity helps participants understand flood risk and the consequences of a flood on a given area. Through the game, participants learn the proper actions to take before, during, and after a flood. It combines hands-on activities, cooperation, and discussion. 2:30 p.m. “Clean Loire, Here Begins the Ocean”: Waste cleanup along the banks of the Loire followed by a snack In Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire with Loire Odyssée, join a litter cleanup along the banks of the Loire to protect the river and its landscapes. An opportunity for civic action by the water’s edge, getting your hands dirty, to observe what the Loire carries… and what it should never carry. After the cleanup, enjoy a friendly get-together over a snack. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: tour of the Loire exhibition, models, short film 4:00 p.m. “Pièces d’eau,” a performance by the Spectabilis theater company A theatrical and musical performance consisting of short scenes, in which water becomes the inspiration for sensitive, funny, and offbeat stories about our connection to life. A lighthearted, traveling production that invites audiences to see what water has to say in a new light—from a single drop to a stream to a mighty river. In partnership with the Federation of Loire Houses, with financial support from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, France Nation Verte, the European Union, the Centre-Val de Loire Region, and the Water Agency.
