Laure Chartier’s residency at the Angers Museum of Fine Arts, as part of the exhibition “Collecting in the 18th Century: Angers Welcomes Drawings from the Louvre.” “I open my eyes and ears to the paintings and drawings that have made a stop at the Musée des Beaux-Arts after three centuries of existence. I listen to what they tell me, the frequencies they offer, the sounds that emerge, and the silences between them. I write down the images I hear; I sing the music I see. A tangible and poetic imagination emerges from the invisible context of the works and their century—from its pastoral or revolutionary moments.”
